…I’ve often considered the typical wording of the Mayan 2012 prophesy, which is usually ‘the end of the world as you know it’…
It has always been that slight twist at the end of the sentence which has plagued me. ‘As you know it.’
I have wondered, then, if it applied not to some fiery cataclysm (which I admit would qualify as an end to the world as we know it) but to our social, economic, political, religious or philosophical facets of life as we know them.
Considering the various movements across the globe, which collectively seem to rally against the current effort towards Corporatism, then perhaps it is the demise of the current economic and political systems, and the robber-barons who operate the Ponzie Scheme, which the Maya prophesied.
Indeed, a move away from our current economic & political habits would end the world as we know it, and a new system would then be found or built.
If it is a ‘better’ or ‘worse’ system, who knows?…
